The center of this kumiko panel is a new pattern for me, the Dogwood Blossom. It is surrounded by a repeating asa-no-ha pattern that I have done before.
This pattern also comes from Matt Kenney’s book, linked previously. The center section was quite tricky, and required a different angled jig - and a new jig to cut a “birds mouth” where the end of the small infill piece has an angled groove on the end. I also found the smallest infill pieces in the outer pattern where challenging to hold firm so I could get a clean angle on them.
